These Terms of Use constitute a legal agreement between you and basin-trail. By accessing our website or booking our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
1. Services provided
Basin-trail offers curated travel experiences designed for creative professionals. Our services include:
- Journey planning and coordination
- Accommodation arrangements
- Local transportation
- Guided activities and experiences
- Pre-journey consultation
- Post-journey follow-up
We act as an organizer and coordinator. Specific services (accommodations, transportation, guides) are provided by third-party suppliers.
2. Booking and payment
2.1 Booking process
To book a journey:
- Submit an inquiry through our website form
- Participate in a consultation call
- Receive detailed itinerary and pricing
- Confirm booking with required deposit
- Complete payment according to agreed schedule
2.2 Pricing
All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise specified. Prices include services described in the itinerary but exclude:
- International flights
- Travel insurance
- Meals during free time
- Optional activities beyond core itinerary
- Personal expenses
2.3 Payment schedule
Standard payment terms:
- 25% deposit due at booking confirmation
- 75% balance due 60 days before departure
- Bookings within 60 days of departure require full payment immediately
2.4 Payment methods
We accept payment via bank transfer and major credit cards. Payment processing is handled by secure third-party processors.
3. Cancellations and refunds
3.1 Cancellation by participant
Cancellation terms based on notice period before departure:
- More than 60 days: Full refund minus 150 CAD processing fee
- 30-60 days: 50% refund of total journey cost
- Less than 30 days: No refund
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected].
3.2 Cancellation by basin-trail
We reserve the right to cancel journeys due to:
- Insufficient participant numbers (minimum group size not met)
- Safety concerns
- Force majeure events
- Supplier unavailability
If we cancel, you will receive:
- Full refund of all payments made, or
- Option to transfer to alternative journey date
3.3 Changes and modifications
Request to change journey dates or details:
- More than 60 days before departure: 100 CAD change fee plus any supplier charges
- Less than 60 days: Subject to availability, may incur significant costs
4. Travel insurance requirement
Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants. Your policy must cover:
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Medical expenses and emergency evacuation
- Lost or delayed baggage
- Travel delays
Proof of insurance must be provided before final payment. We can recommend insurance providers but are not responsible for your insurance coverage.
5. Participant responsibilities
5.1 Health and fitness
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring you are physically capable of participating in journey activities
- Disclosing relevant medical conditions during consultation
- Obtaining necessary medical clearances
- Bringing required medications and medical supplies
5.2 Documentation
You must possess:
- Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity)
- Required visas for destination countries
- Proof of travel insurance
- Any health certificates required by destinations
5.3 Conduct
Participants must:
- Behave respectfully toward other participants, guides, and local communities
- Follow safety instructions from guides and coordinators
- Respect local customs and regulations
- Not engage in illegal activities
We reserve the right to remove participants who violate conduct standards, without refund.
6. Limitations of liability
6.1 Third-party services
We coordinate services provided by independent suppliers (hotels, transport providers, guides). We are not liable for:
- Negligence or misconduct of third-party providers
- Quality or safety of accommodations, vehicles, or equipment
- Actions or omissions of local guides or staff
6.2 Force majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, storms)
- War, civil unrest, terrorism
- Government actions or travel restrictions
- Pandemics or health emergencies
- Strikes or labor disputes
- Supplier failures
6.3 Liability cap
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the journey in question.
6.4 Exclusion of consequential damages
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including:
- Lost profits or business opportunities
- Emotional distress
- Loss of enjoyment
- Missed connections or subsequent travel disruptions
7. Intellectual property
All content on our website (text, images, graphics, logos, designs) is owned by basin-trail or licensed to us. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute content without permission
- Use content for commercial purposes
- Modify or create derivative works
- Remove copyright or trademark notices
8. Privacy and data protection
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance page. By using our services, you consent to our data practices as described in those documents.
9. Dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any successor or affiliated entity.

Our journeys are designed for inspiration and personal development. They are not:
- Medical treatments or interventions
- Therapy or counseling services
- Substitutes for professional mental health care
- Guaranteed to produce specific outcomes
Results vary based on individual circumstances and engagement. We make no guarantees about creative breakthroughs, productivity improvements, or psychological benefits.

Scientific studies referenced on our website are provided for informational purposes. They do not constitute:
